A delightful evening for you and the family, this yearly event caters to your taste buds with a variety of samplers from local restaurants and for the ears – talented and soulful sounds of stand-out musicians such as Little Feat, Leon Russell, Blue Oyster Cult, Mark Farner and the Atlanta Rhythm Section, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Poco w/Pure Prairie League, Rare Earth, and many more. The Festival in Sycamore has become a much anticipated event over the last 15 years with games, rides for the kids and much more. FREE parking is available onsite (weather permitting) and in marked shuttle lots at St. Savior Church, behind the Deer Park High School, Bethel Baptist Church, behind the Sycamore Township Administration Building, Eurpoean Auto Care on Sycamore Road and best of all admission is FREE!? Three national bands, with over 50 albums and many hits to their credit headlined the 16th annual Festival in Sycamore that was held July 11 & 12th 2008. Ambrosia, with hits such as Your'e the Only Woman, You're the Biggest Part of Me, How Much I Feel and Holdin' On to Yesterday and the Atlanta Rhythm Section, with hits including So Into You, Spooky, Champagne Jam and many more appeared on Friday, July 11th. Local acoustic group Firelight, and local band Working Class Villain and The Vibe performed on Saturday, July 12th for Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Dave Mason. As a founding member of the British supergroup Traffic, Dave Mason has also had hits including We Just Disagree and Feelin Alright. He has also been a featured player on many classic albums including George Harrison, Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, Jimmi Hendrix and The Rolling Stones. He is considered to be one of the top guitar players of his rock era. In addition to great music, area restaurants served their fare of fantastic food as in years past.
