Public comment during meetings
We welcome comments and questions at Board Meetings. Public participants must be residents of the Township and have a legitimate interest in the action of the Board. This is the time when members of the public may direct concerns, suggestions, questions, or comments to the Board under the section of the agenda identified as "CommENTS FROM RESIDENTS".
In general, the Board oversees TOWNSHIp issues and policies. If you have individual concerns about a specific situation, it's best to first talk with the department head or township administrator. Our goal is to work together with you to resolve issues quickly, and staff that is closest to the situation are better able to do so.
In order to protect employees' rights to privacy, the Board can not hear complaints or comments about specific employees in public session.
Board Agenda
The Board Agenda typically consists of reports of all department heads, treasurer and law director for which Board action may or may not be necessary.
Executive Sessions
All Board meetings are open to the public. During those meetings, the Board may call a closed-door session, called an executive session. Ohio law allows executive sessions for discussion only, and only to discuss personnel, property purchases, pending legal action, employee negotiations, or security. The Board may not take any votes or other action during executive sessions.
YOUR ELECTED OFFICIALS
The Trustees are the three elected officials who are responsible for administering the local goverment affairs of the Township.

Tom Weidman - President Tom Weidman was elected to the Sycamore Township Board of Trustees in the Fall of 2005, but he is not a new face to most residents of Sycamore Township . Tom has lived in Sycamore Township since 1985, with his wife Dianne, and sons, Sean, Mike and Nick. In 1994, Tom was appointed by the Trustees to the township Planning and Zoning Commission. He was also appointed to the Township Land Use Plan Committee, and has served as a member of that committee for every review and revision of the plan since that time. In 1999, the residents of the township voted to end county zoning and create a Township Zoning department. Tom was asked by the Trustees to move to the newly established Board of Zoning Appeals, and at their first meeting in January, 2000, he was elected by his fellow members to the Chairman position. Tom held the Chairman position until his resignation from the board in December, 2005, to begin his newly elected position as Township Trustee in January, 2006. Tom has led and won many fights on behalf of township residents against proposed commercial developments that encroached into residential neighborhoods. But no victory was greater than the 6 month fight to prevent a Target Superstore from developing in the backyards of our Dillonvale residents. During his campaign, Tom promised that his very first order of business as Trustee would be to pass enhanced notification rules for all sex offenders that move into our community. Tom worked closely with Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters and Hamilton County Sheriff Simon Leis to insure that his proposal met all legal tests. At his first meeting as a Trustee on January 5 th , his fellow trustees agreed with Tom, making Sycamore Township sex offender notification rules the strictest of any community in Ohio . Tom is a strong believer that by keeping our Kenwood Retail District new and cutting edge, we increase property values for all Sycamore Township residents. Tom believes that our Kenwood Retail District is the "Crown Jewel" of retail in all of Southern Ohio , and he is totally committed to the continued re-development and re-vitalization of the entire Kenwood shopping area. Tom is a 1978 graduate from the University of Michigan , receiving a degree in Political Science and Economics. He is the President of Marketmaster International LLC, an international marketing and sales company in the Specialty Steel and Specialty Steel parts business, which he founded in 1986. Although Tom keeps busy running his company and serving the residents of Sycamore Township as Trustee, in his free time he enjoys playing golf and tennis. For 14 years, Tom has coached boy's basketball at All Saints and Bethany School in grades 5 through 12 in the CYO League, as well as multiple teams in the North Sycamore Leagues. |
