POSITION OVERVIEW
Sycamore Township is accepting applications for a full-time Truck Driver/Laborer position within the Service Department.
This position performs manual, semi-skilled, and skilled maintenance duties supporting Township roadways, rights-of-way, drainage facilities, signage, public grounds, facilities, equipment, and related infrastructure. Primary responsibilities include roadway maintenance; asphalt and pothole repairs; concrete work, including curb, sidewalk, and related repairs; ditch, culvert, and stormwater maintenance; brush and trash collection; snow and ice control; grounds maintenance; equipment operation; and other general labor duties as assigned.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
The ideal candidate will be dependable, hardworking, safety-minded, and able to work well as part of a team in a public service environment. Previous experience in roadway maintenance, construction, landscaping, equipment operation, snow plowing, or municipal/public works operations is preferred, but not required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license. The selected candidate must possess, or be able to obtain within six (6) months of employment, a valid Ohio Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with applicable endorsements, including air brake and tanker endorsements. The position requires the ability to perform heavy manual labor, work outdoors in various weather conditions, and respond to occasional overtime, nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-ins as needed.
