The National Weather Service has issued a briefing for the severe weather and flooding threats today (5/7) and tomorrow (5/8). We are forecasted to receive multiple rounds of thunderstorms both this afternoon/evening, as well as tomorrow evening/overnight hours. This includes an elevated threat for damaging winds, large hail, tornadoes, and flash flooding on both days. The primary concern for right now will be this afternoon and evening.
Today (5/7): Severe thunderstorms are likely late this afternoon through the evening.
Timing: Greatest potential for severe weather is from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
• Severe Threats: The main severe threats are large hail and damaging winds. A few tornadoes are also possible.
• Flooding Threat: Heavy downpours and localized flooding will be possible.
Tomorrow (5/8): Severe thunderstorms are possible Wednesday evening and night.
