Kenwood Road Project (Montgomery Road to Blue Ash Corp. Line) – Estimated cost of this project is $4,256,485.59.  The Township was awarded a SORTA Grant to fund 90% of the construction costs or 3,830,837.03.  The Township will be responsible for the remaining $425,648.56.  Construction will commence late this summer and be completed by spring 2025.

This project includes:

• The replacement of deteriorated five feet concrete walk from Montgomery Road to E. Galbraith Road.
• The Installation of new sidewalk, curb ramps, ADA pads, and retaining wall repair at the NW and SW corners of Kenwood Road.
• Spot full depth repairs of pavement and installation of new pedestrian crosswalks.

Sycamore Township Curb Program – Estimated cost of this project is $389,257.00. The contract has been awarded to Adleta Construction.  Construction is scheduled to commence this summer with a completion date of October 1, 2024.   The roads that will receive curb improvements are Northlake Dr., Edington Dr., Ellington Ct., and Gideon Ln.

Sycamore Township Pavement Repair Program – Estimated cost is $259,465.25. The contract has been awarded to Rack and Ballauer Construction.  Construction is scheduled to commence this summer with a September 1, 2024 completion date.  The project area for this year’s program is the High Point Neighborhood.

Sycamore Township Pavement Preservation Program (Reclamite)  – Estimate cost $43,302.00. The contract has been awarded to Pavement Technology Inc.  The asphalt sealant is scheduled to be applied this summer.  Roads within the project area:  Hermitage Ln., Ivybrook Ct., Charteroak Dr., Whitechapel Dr., Highton Ct., Donegal Dr. (Wicklow to West CDS), Guam Dr., Jeffrey Dr., Langhorst Dr., Gwilada Dr., Estermarie Dr. (Donna to Mantell), & Donna Ln. (Plainfield to Estermarie)

Kenwood Traffic Study 

Below is a draft of the Kenwood Traffic Study completed by TEC engineering. A public meeting was held on Tuesday, March 21st at the Township Administration Building at 8540 Kenwood Road in which a presentation was made about this study. The public was invited to provide comments via a public opinion survey. The survey closed on June 30, 2023.

Happiness Way Traffic Study

Sycamore Township contracted with TEC engineering to complete a traffic study at Happiness Way to determine if there is a significant number of vehicles using Happiness Way to by-pass the Kenwood Road & Galbraith Road intersection. The study found 24-hour counts of average daily traffic to be consistent with the number of houses in the neighborhoods indicating by-pass traffic is not an issue. At their February 6, 2024 meeting, the Board of Trustees approved a resolution to purchase and install new playground equipment at Bob Meyer Park. Trustee Tracy Kellums and Park Supervisor Jason Petty worked with residents of Sturbridge subdivision on the design of the new playground. This project is scheduled to begin in May, 2024.
